Harsh Realities

Sick. Frail. Thin. Diarrhea. Bloody Cough. Weak. Positive. These are the harsh realities of many children here. A few weeks ago we did a medical clinic at one of our carepoints. When this small child walked in we were all concerned. Then we learned that she was 16. Looking barely 8 or 9 we knew she was very sick. I could blog all about it, but Patrick's blog says it all and includes pictures. Please read it. Please pray.

Makholweni

Yesterday was our Grand Opening of our Makholweni Care Point. It went so well!! We probably had about 300 people there!! It was very exciting for us to see the community so excited and supportive. Everyone was pitching in helping out. I do have to give a lot of the credit to Daran for all of his hardwork!! He made this happen!! Without him, this building would not have been anywhere close to ready!! God gave him a task and he did it with excellence. Way to go Daran!! There were tons of people also cooking tons of food, decorating, face painting etc... Then there were some organizations that came and did traditional Swazi dances, very cool. Patrick and Charles are learning one for a camp we have coming up. Don't worry, we will have tons of pictures of that!! God is doing amazing things here. Childrens Cup is so excited about all the ways He is using us to reach the community. Thank you God for taking care of the Childrens Cup team and for using us to do things we could never be doing alone!

The Great Outdoors

Man what an experience in the great outdoors. Mark Stermer, Lee Domingue and Joe Martin took me on a hunt this past week and can I say wow. The wisdom and knowledge I got from those guys was incredible. We got there Thursday night and hunted all day Friday. In one day we killed 17 animals. Lee was the slayer of the group busting out about 7 animals. Mr Joe killed 4, Mark Stermer smoked about 4 and I the great white hunter took down 3. The people that had the lodge were incredible. I mean a 72,000 acre ranch WHAT !!!!! Are you kidding me. We had a good time though Mark and Lee went through 50 bullets and me and Joe went through about 12. Now Im not saying who was a better shot but..... well. Thanks again guys for the invite I really enjoyed the time we spent together and the input yall had in my life. Love yall very much

It has been a great few days. Mark Stermer, Lee Domingue and Joe Martin have been in town. We have had a great time with them. We went on a photo safari at a game park, very cool and they went up to Mozambique, to have hands on help with the church plant there. They left yesterdy, with Charles, to go on a hunt in South Africa. We heard this morning that it was snowing there so I'm not sure what will happen when they get there. Anyways, we had another medical clinic Wednesday. It was at Makholweni, another site where we are in the process of building a carepoint, but don't have one yet. There were probably about 100 kids at clinic and maybe 150 that came for the meal. I really enjoy doing the medical clinics, it really feels like you are helping. The first pictures are from dinner Wednesday night. The next few are at the government hospital, Charles and Patrick went there to hang curtains that Patrick's mom had made. The last ones are at the medical clinic. God is using us and we are happy to be in His will. Keep us in your prayers. We love and miss everyone. PS- I am not very good at placing the pics where i want them yet :) So if they don't follow what the text says, I am sure you will figure it out.

Well things have been going really great here. Last week we did a medical clinic that went really good. It was at a sight where we don't have a care point yet, but they are serving meals. We set up a little clinic where kids got treated for things like scabies, stomach worms, ring worms, coughs, upset stomach etc.. We had about 150 kids show up. It was really great being able to hand out the meds and just minister to them in that way. We are having another clinic today and we are praying that it will go as good. We are getting really adjusted which is a good feeling. Just to get more comfortable and less afraid as we learn things feels good. Thanks to everyone for all of your prayers and support. Here is a picture of Charles and Patrick. We are having a lot of fun with the Rodgers and Patrick. They make it feel more like home. Yesterday we went to Nelspruit, South Africa. It is about 2 1/2 hours away. There is a big mall, way more American like with a lot of really nice stores. The best was a store named Game. It is the closest thing to a WalMart. Very exciting to see. Anything form electronics to food to plates and silverware to clothes, pretty much a WalMart. When we get into a more permanent house I would love to go back.

Swaziland

The pictures of the mountains are in front of and behind our house. It is absolutely beautiful here. The other pictures are at a carepoint with some of the kids. They are precious. We are adjusting to Swazi life. Hopefully soon we will be taking lessons to learn SiSwati. The children only speak that and no english. Nathie, one of the Swazis that works at Cup has been teaching me too. We are excited about being here and being used by God. Please keep us in your prayers. We hope to blog more soon about all the great things God is doing.

Overwhelmed

Overwhelmed. This word has been in my head for over a week now. I have been overwhelmed with a lot of things lately. Moving, packing, leaving home, missing family and friends, meetings with pastors, and the list goes on. The one thing I am most overwhelmed by though, is Christ's love for me. It overwhelms me that He died on the cross for me. He loves and forgives me no matter what. I am important to Him. He has blessed me beyond what anyone could ask for. He has given me power in His name. I can overcome anything. Even more so, He has asked ME to go to the nations and represent Him, by spreading the gospel. How lucky am I? He trusts me with His people. Whether I am called to change one life or one thousand lives I know that all is worth it for His name and His glory. Reach the world by serving One. ~K

ARC

It has been an amazing weekend at the arc conference. Great messages so far from Stovall Weems, Celebration Church, Christine Caine, Hillsong, and our very own Dino Rizzo, making us all proud as usual to call him pastor. Celebration is a wonderful church, I definitely feel at home here. Last night, their Late Nite, worship team played and it was incredible. They had a scratcher!! And a few rappers. Check out the pictures up top. It was so cool. It really created a different environment, very inviting for young adults and college aged kids. Charles and I loved it. Dino has helped us network and start building a lot of good relationships with great people. We are so blessed to have him in our lives. He has not only helped us in fulfilling our calling, he has gone the extra mile, helping us get set up with other churches and pastors, making us feel important to him and believing in us. Not to mention the way he has played a huge part in shaping us as Christians, leading us with an incredible example. Oh yeah, and he brought over 7 pieces of very heavy luggage for us. Thanks Pastor Dino, we will miss you so much but we know that we will back again and we will always stay connected.
