Homesick

Today I am feeling homesick. I would give anything to be at my sister's house, sitting on her couch, holding my niece and laughing about something. I know I am where God has called me, but I still have these days. Days where I feel alone. Days where I would love to pick up a phone and call a friend to come over. God grant me the strength to walk this journey you have placed before me. Give me comfort and perserverance. Let me know that I am not alone.

interesting that i'd read this today - working on the next children's cup magazine, putting in a lot of pics that y'all have shot and thinking about just how much God is using y'all there. and knowing too that it isn't a simple thing to leave "home" to go. it's worth it. you're not alone. there are a ton of people here who love y'all and think about you (more importantly, pray for you) every day.

i met with the elevate team last thursday and every other name that came out of their mouths was "kristen" - you'd think they talk to you daily. in their hearts i think they do. you're making a difference. don't ever doubt that.

thanks for being there.

i'm having a hard time here, dealing with more stuff on top of more stuff...not with the parents (we're ok!), but with him. so just keep praying that mobile comes sooner rather than later. i need it now more than ever. i wish i could talk to you all the time. but i love you. and i'll talk to you soon. :)

You are both truly God-given to 'Cup and the children He has entrusted to our care. How we thank Him for you.

Hang in there..."ups and downs" do come, and will continue to be there, BUT when you are changing lives through Jesus' name, the "ups" are much sweeter.

love ya

Hey guys! I know that we (the elevate team) are all so excited about coming down there to help out! We cannot wait! 13 more days until we leave... Woo Hoo! I'll be praying for you. I've heard nothing but great things about what you guys are doing there. If there is anything from home that we can possibly bring you to brighten your day, let me know! You guys are the BEST!! Much love!

I found a psalm that I read every morning. It is Ps 91. It may fit more with my situation here in Iraq, but lots of great nuggests to be mined.

I just saw this post today, and wanted you to know how much we all miss and love ya'll. It stinks you feel so alone because ya'll are so fresh on all our minds. Every where I go your names pop up in conversation and it's always about how awesome it is that you sacrificed your "home" to meet those kids where they are at. God will never give you more than you can handle and he will continue to give you strength to make it through. Our prayers and thoughts are with ya'll :)

Our internet service has been down for some time now, so we are just reading your Blog. Wish you and Charles were coming through our door right now and we could give you a big hug! Daily we feel that you are here with us, but, that must be because we are still in Baton Rouge. I understand the desires of your heart--so does HE.
